Spurred by the devastating impact of the earthquake in January 2010, Times Square Church began sending construction and medical outreach teams into the heart of Haiti to help rebuild, heal and bring a message of hope to those affected. As most of the tent communities gradually disappeared, the one in Delmas 75 stayed. A permanent clinic called Clinique Sur Appel de Delmas was established to serve the tent community as well as the neighborhood surrounding the clinic.
Situated in the Delmas section of Port-au-Prince, the clinic became fully operational in May 2013. Individuals within the local community are given access to primary care and dental services through the clinic, which is now open for medical consultation five days a week.
The ground team currently consists of a physician, two volunteer nurses, as well as an administrator. Short-term medical and dental teams are also hosted each month in order to augment the services provided, while at the same time affording medical professionals an opportunity to use their skills to be a practical expression of the love of Jesus Christ.
